It is involved in the biosynthesis and cross-linking of collagen, which can lead to an increase in collagenase inhibitor proteins (protecting against the breakdown of collagen and elastin), thus providing anti-aging benefits. Vitamin C continues to be active as an antioxidant and can bind free radicals in the metabolism of steroids and amino acids, thus protecting your skin.
